Purpose
Provide managerial leadership through all thermal treat assets, operations, and maintenance at the Gambrinus Steel Plant. Lead efforts in Safety, Delivery, Operating Budget Planning/Compliance, and Bargaining Unit Contract issues. Oversee daily operations, initiate and drive continuous improvement to the process and equipment. Provide knowledge, training, managerial expertise, and professional development to the salary and hourly employees. Ensure product meets the customer requirements including identity, grade, size, length, etc. Ensure risks associated with maintenance activities are identified and managed. Ensure employees in department know and follows safety rules, policies and compliance regulations. Ensure the department maintains compliance with applicable environmental regulations as well as plant and company policies. Manage maintenance resources to optimize equipment availability in conjunction with operations. This position must evaluate assets criticality and operating conditions for this process. Manage spending for maintenance activities to optimize the cost of assets over their life cycle while considering the impact of lost production. Continuously evaluate all aspects of the equipment, searching for ways to improve throughput training, technology, equipment, and practices. Support and identify opportunities for reliability-based processes to optimize asset availability and life cycle cost. Manage work planning, work scheduling, and work execution activities using best practices. Ensure required training for employees is complete. Evaluate the performance and skills of individuals and groups to identify opportunities for enhanced training. Develop and manage contingency and succession plans for key roles in department.

- Ensure each operations function is completed with high quality and reliability.
- Ensure compliance to standard work and best practice settings.
- Ensure objectives, performance measures, and goals are communicated throughout the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma with at least 12 years of experience in engineering, operations, manufacturing, or related.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Business with at least 9 years of experience in engineering, operations, manufacturing, or related.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Business with at least 7 years of experience in engineering, operations, manufacturing, or related.
