Hourly Rate:

Starting at $27.20 hour with a raise to $34 upon completion of a 120 working day probationary period

Solidification Tender
The Solidification Tender is responsible for safely transporting, preparing, and handling materials, molds, ingots, and equipment throughout the steelmaking and casting process. This position operates a variety of mobile, rail, lifting, and processing equipment to support casting, ingot stripping, molten metal transfer, mold preparation, and product movement. The role also includes equipment inspections, material identification, basic maintenance support, and coordination with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe and efficient production.
Operates a variety of mobile equipment, rail equipment, cranes, casting equipment, and hand tools used to transport materials, prepare molds, support molten metal operations, perform inspections, and move products throughout the steelmaking and casting process.
Attendants in a fast-paced, heavy industrial steelmaking environment involving molten metal processes, continuous casting equipment, overhead cranes, mobile equipment, elevated work areas, and exposure to heat, dust, noise, and other manufacturing conditions while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.

Ability to safely perform work in a heavy industrial environment.

Ability to learn overhead crane operation, material identification processes, and computer-based production systems.

Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 75 pounds with or without assistance and working in extreme temperatures.
Preferred Requirments
-
Previous experience in a steel mill, foundry, metal manufacturing, casting operation, or heavy industrial environment.

Experience operating cranes, forklifts, rail equipment, locomotive mules, Kress carriers, or other heavy mobile equipment.

Experience working with molten metal, casting, ingot production, or material handling operations.

Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures and industrial safety practices.
