Purpose and Scope:
This position is accountable to develop both new and existing suppliers as well it also requires constant attention to inventory management, assists in developing and maintaining the writing and distribution of Metallus yearly RFQ's, will write yearly and monthly Purchase Orders as needed to ensure required raw material needs are met, understands and reviews global pricing trends of the of Scrap Metal and to assist in direction of all functions and activities of TSB Metal Recycling LLC (TSBMR).
Responsibilities:
- Leads monthly scrap sourcing process for company.
- Develops sourcing strategy for scrap.
- Negotiates annual contracts as well as procures scrap.
- Leads Scrap Supplier inquiries.
- Performs analysis on scrap.
- Develops and implements savings ideas for scrap.
- Manages trials for different scrap materials.
- Develops short- and long-term scrap pricing forecast.
- Manages scrap consignment materials.
- Identifies new scrap suppliers and work to enhance existing supplier relationships.
- Work to create purchase orders to meet the monthly scrap sourcing needs.
- Manage inventory levels to align with production levels.
- Address all supplier inquires on purchase orders, payments and deliveries.
- Provide analysis as requested by Senior Management.
- Provide the business and suppliers with as accurate forecasting of material needed and pricing.
- Develop and institute trial of potential Scrap Materials with operations.
- Work with operations to report consignment information in a timely manner.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams
- Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
- Familiarity with scrap management systems
- Knowledge of key procurement best practices
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 17 years of experience in scrap purchasing and developing sourcing strategy for scrap.
- Associate of Business or Supply Chain with at least 14 years of experience in scrap purchasing and developing sourcing strategy for scrap.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Business or Supply Chain with at least 12 years of experience in scrap purchasing and developing sourcing strategy for scrap.
- Masters of Business or Supply Chain with at least 10 years of experience in scrap purchasing and developing sourcing strategy for scrap.
