Purpose and Scope:
Manage all functions relating to quality, inspection, certification, documentation, customer quality/warranty issues and system approvals. Maintain knowledge of the business in all matters concerning product specifications and performance, gauging equipment, standard operations and procedures and provide leadership and judgment toward improvement in those matters.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and drive plant-level tactics to improve the HSP & GSP quality management system and associated KPI's (e.g., complaints, CONC, etc.). Work with areas to ensure LPA’s are performed and refresh LPA items in response to known failure modes.
- Coordinate responses to GQTS claims. Coordinate meeting, communications, analysis, and problem solving. Drive the generation of meaningful corrective actions in order to eliminate the root cause, including read across to operations that have potential for similar failure modes.
- Assign Internal DMR’s when an internal failure is found. Lead efforts to respond to DMR’s assigned to HSP & GSP.
- Communicate read across from other plants and ensure appropriate actions are taken to avoid similar failure modes.
- Collects and analyzes data with regard to internal rejections, receiving inspection results, and customer hardware/certification issues.
- Communicate meaningful information/intelligence derived from this data and uses the results to drive improvement of the organization’s performance.
- Remain abreast of gauging, inspection and statistical technology, and quality management systems. Manage customer quality audits and surveys
- Assist Sales, MetQA and Business Quality Assurance Management with the interpretation and development of procedures necessary to understand and meet customer requirements.
- Function as management representative for Quality Systems during all internal / external audits with GSP & HSP.
Technical Skills:
- Ability to lead projects
- Problem Solving Training (Lean 6, 8D, 5 Why's)
- Statistical training and knowledge
- Cost analysis
- Technical writing skills
- Knowledge of NDT and gauging equipment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products, especially Excel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in engineering, technology, or business with at least 4 years of experience in quality systems or manufacturing.
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, technology, or business with at least 2 years of experience in quality systems or manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in engineering, technology, or business with at least 9 years of experience in quality systems or manufacturing.
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, technology, or business with at least 7 years of experience in quality systems or manufacturing.
