Purpose

This position is responsible for managing order dates to support on time delivery metrics across supply chain processes and systems. This includes Original Promise Dates to our customers, LPST (Last Possible Start Time) is aligned to our Product Campaigns and our PST (Planned Start Times) reflect actual production times. This position is responsible for developing and implementing system and process solutions to maintain and enhance the integrity of Metallus’s ability to accurately commit delivery dates to our customers.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage LOGIS order promising (LOP) system, understanding logic and processes that dictates Order Promise dates when a Customer Order is received
  • Manage Lead Times by product, process path, conditioning, segments and customer base to deliver accurate Lead Times to customers, adjusting to business conditions as required
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Capacity and Scheduling groups to drive cycle time adherence to published Lead Times
  • Define Metallus’s Capacity Groups to align customer orders to production capabilities to prevent overloads while achieving the Business Plan
  • Identify available capacity and translate product offerings to Metallus’s customer base to Commercial and Sales.
  • Manage Hot Rolled Inventory programs, assigning orders to stock material and issue Internal Orders to replenish Hot Rolled Inventory
  • Manage Order Re-Promising process, leveraging LOGIS LRP (Logis Re-Promise Process) system and proactively communicate to stakeholders promise date changes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify root causes to not meeting Original Promise Date to customers.
  • Lead cross functional teams to fulfill Escalated Orders, assessing benefits and risks to business to fulfill Expedited and Top 5 orders including cutting into campaigns, prioritizing orders and impacts to operational efficiencies.
  • Support Sales to deliver root cause to customers on shipment delays and tell the story on ATS delays.
  • Evaluate areas for improvement and enhance current supply chain processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in business, engineering, or related with 9 years of experience in planning/scheduling, manufacturing, or business.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or related with 7 years of experience in planning/scheduling, manufacturing, or business.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in business, engineering, or related with 14 years of experience in planning/scheduling, manufacturing, or presenting and reporting out to executive leaders.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or related with 12 years of experience in planning/scheduling, manufacturing, or presenting and reporting out to executive leaders.
