Manager - Master Data Governance and Inquiry-to-Order Entry

Purpose

The Master Data Governance and Quote-to-Order Entry Manager is accountable for the management of Metallus’ Product Catalog and SAP PLM lifecycle; leveraging engineering and commercial expertise to align the inquiry-to-order entry processes.  Key responsibilities include managing a staff of engineers and/or analysts, providing technical and commercial decision-making support, leading continuous improvement and optimization initiatives, and fostering a culture that embodies Metallus’ cultural framework. The manager is also responsible for establishing standardized front-end processes while ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of Metallus’ master data.

Responsibilities

• Manage a staff of analysts and/or engineers to execute the quote-to-item creation lifecycle process, ensuring timely and accurate conversion of quotes and new products into product and customer master data.
• Manage a staff of analysts to execute the end-to-end order entry process for long-length purchase orders (PO’s), including PO’s received through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).
• Manage targeted accounts across master data and order entry workflows.  Provide cross-functional support during high-volume or resource-constrained periods.
• Own enterprise governance of Metallus’ Product and Customer master data by enforcing standards, controls, and compliance requirements to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
• Provide time-sensitive commercial and technical decision-making support to Sales, Product Management, Product Development, and customers by assessing requirements, guiding product offerings decisions, and enabling new business development aligned with organizational priorities.
• Leverage large-scale data analytics to drive master data standardization, improve order entry performance, and strengthen enterprise data consistency.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support Metallus’ growth strategies, expansion into new product spaces, and commercial directives.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement that drives disciplined execution, improves front-end service levels, strengthens business application effectiveness, and advances project and transformational initiatives.
• Engage stakeholders across all levels of the organization to communicate and align around shared goals, influence decision-making, gather input, and secure consensus and buy-in.
• Drive timely resolution of expedited requirements and shifting priorities with a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and sound judgment while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of critical master data.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field AND 12 years or more of experience within the manufacturing sector 

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering, business, or related field AND 10 years or more of experience within the manufacturing sector

• Experience leading or managing teams within the manufacturing sector
