Purpose

This is an operational position that exists to identify, plan, coordinate and supervise work on the assets associated with the Metallus Faircrest Facility, with a focus on the overhead crane fleet. This position requires on call and off shifts availability based on business needs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Improve equipment and process reliability utilizing available delay data to prioritize work. 
  • Ensure the correct prioritization of backlog for assigned assets and the completion of all preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance.
  • Cross functional collaboration with planning, scheduling, and supervisors.
  • Supervise internal and contracted resources.
  • Quality of work follow-up
  • Increase efficiency of maintenance workforce through detailed job plans, coaching, and technical instruction.
  • Coordinate contracted services and repairs based upon asset operating schedules.
  • Manage spare parts inventory through controlled storerooms and Metallus identification standards.
  • Ensure execution of shutdown/outage work to a predetermined budget and schedule.
  • Communicate effectively across business departments to improve job execution and asset reliability.
  • Root cause analysis.

 

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity associated with IBM Maximo or other comparable computerized maintenance management systems
  • Reading electrical and mechanical engineering drawings
  • Project management
  • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 7 years of experience consisting of manufacturing operations and/or maintenance or Mechanical or electrical apprenticeship completion with at least 4 years of experience consisting of manufacturing operations and/or maintenance.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 10 years of experience consisting of manufacturing operations and/or maintenance or Mechanical or electrical apprenticeship completion with at least 7 years of experience consisting of manufacturing operations and/or maintenance.
  • Associate's Degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or technology with at least 7 years of experience consisting of manufacturing operations and/or maintenance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or technology with at least 5 years of experience consisting of manufacturing operations and/or maintenance.
