Purpose

The purpose of this position is to lead the support of the HR and Payroll Systems; the functional aspect and the technical and system configurations of SAP SuccessFactors and supporting HR and Payroll systems. A key aspect of this role is ensuring data integrity and compliance. A key role this position fulfills is that of IT project manager of key/major business projects. This position must be skilled at interpreting the business requirements to ensure that our processes and systems are configured to achieve those business objectives. The position requires skill at planning for tasks, and management of timelines and resources to meet those business objectives and good test plans. This position will lead projects and direct the assigned associates within the HRIS systems as they work on initiatives and projects. They are expected to provide consultation services, leadership and strategic direction for new technologies or enhancements required or desired by the business or required by the systems. This involves the direction of Metallus Inc. associates as well as external contractors, the project schedule, and the project budget.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple efforts/projects concurrently.
  • Leading the technical and functional expertise related to system releases, including regression testing.
  • Leads the support to security related change requests and security access. 
  • Leads the team on supporting standard configuration and/or additional changes classified as Minor Enhancements. 
  • This position is a recognized leader in the IT organization by the business and is widely known as a business process/functional expert. Thus, this person is expected to interact with personnel in other business units (OA, Purchasing, Payroll, etc.) as well as other companies, to construct relationships that increase business knowledge, technical expertise and/or validate business systems decisions.
  • Set direction for these systems by partnering with the HR functional team as well as with key service providers such as SAP / SuccessFactors and external IT consulting services.
  • Responsible for the contracts with SAP and external IT consulting services.
  • Lead the external IT consulting resources on any HR Systems support efforts.

 

Technical / Functional Skills

  • Functional knowledge of configuration in the SAP SuccessFactors tool, HR, and Payroll Systems to have the ability to analyze requirements, trouble-shoot technical issues and make recommendations for improvement of processes, where appropriate.
  • Expertise with collaborating with the business users (functional leads, managers) to gather/define/document functional requirements for all HR and Payroll Systems.
  • Knowledge of BSI Tax Factory configuration. TUBS (Tax Update Bulletins) are separately released by SAP/BSI and Release Management Scope will include leading the testing efforts of the TUBS.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all modules of SAP SuccessFactors, LMS, recruiting, compensation, reporting, performance, and Boomi.
  • Ability to lead a cross functional team to achieve project goals

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Computer Science, Business or related with at least 12 years HRIS system, SAP payroll (EC Payroll), and project management experience

Or

Masters of Computer Science, Business or related with at least 10 years HRIS system, SAP payroll (EC Payroll), and project management experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Computer Science, Business or related with at least 13 years HRIS system, SAP payroll (EC Payroll), and project management experience

Or

Masters of Computer Science, Business or related with at least 11 years HRIS system, SAP payroll (EC Payroll), and project management experience
