IT Business Lead - HR & Payroll

Purpose

In this position, you will lead the IT support of the HR and Payroll Systems; including our HRIS, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Payroll, Kronos, and our in-house labor relations system. You will be the IT project manager of major business projects in these areas, interpreting business requirements to ensure that our processes and systems are configured to achieve those objectives. You will ensure data integrity and compliance across systems as you lead and direct Metallus employees and external contractors to achieve the project schedule and budget. Additionally, you will provide consultation, leadership, and strategic direction for new technologies or enhancements required or desired by the business or required by the systems.

 

Responsibilities

  • This position is a recognized leader in the IT organization by the business and is widely known as a business process/functional expert. Thus, this person is expected to interact with employees in other business units (HR, Purchasing, Payroll, etc.) as well as other companies to construct relationships that increase business knowledge, technical expertise, and/or validate business systems decisions. 
  • Lead multiple efforts/projects concurrently.
  • Leads the team on supporting standard configuration and/or additional changes classified as Minor Enhancements.  
  • Set direction for these systems by partnering with the HR & Payroll functional teams as well as with key service providers such as SAP/SuccessFactors and external IT consulting services. 
  • Lead the technical and functional expertise related to system releases, including regression testing. 
  • Lead the support to security-related change requests and security access.  
  • Responsible for contracts with SAP and external IT consulting services. 
  • Lead external IT consulting resources on any HR/Payroll systems support efforts.

 

Technical/Functional Skills

  • Expertise with collaborating with the business users (functional leads, managers) to gather/define/document functional requirements for all HR and Payroll Systems.
  • Ability to lead a cross functional team to achieve project goals.
  • Functional knowledge of configuration in the SAP SuccessFactors environment, HR, and Payroll Systems to have the ability to analyze requirements, troubleshoot technical issues, and make recommendations for improvement of processes, where appropriate.
  • Knowledge of BSI Tax Factory configuration. TUBS (Tax Update Bulletins) are separately released by SAP/BSI and Release Management Scope will include leading the testing efforts of the TUBS.
  • Knowledge of all modules of SAP SuccessFactors (LMS, recruiting, compensation, reporting, performance) and SAP PCI strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with SAP Payroll, time keeping systems and related benefits systems strongly preferred

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or related field; with at least 5 years of experience in IT project management, supporting an HRIS and/or SAP/EC Payroll; OR
  • Master's degree in computer science, business, or related field; with at least 4 years of experience in IT project management, supporting an HRIS and/or SAP/EC Payroll

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or related field; with at least 6 years of experience in IT project management, supporting SAP SuccessFactors and SAP/EC Payroll; OR
  • Master's degree in computer science, business, or related field; with at least 5 years of experience in IT project management, supporting SAP SuccessFactors and SAP/EC Payroll
