Purpose:

Help drive and foster a culture of accountability and high performance among FSP Melt maintenance personnel and grow the Metallus 3C2F culture through actions and engagement with the entire Melt/Solidification teams. Oversee the SMEs daily activities, coordinate with operations, and drive day-to-day performances across all crews. Provide training and information to the crews related to direction, practice, and performance. Drive standard practices across all crews to ensure first time quality at the lowest cost possible while maintaining a safe and clean work environment for all.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Safety - Create an environment where the employees recognize the importance of following safe work practices and maintaining a safe work environment.  Monitor practices and procedures to achieve OSHA recordable, lost time and environmental goals.
  • Quality - Execute maintenance tasks to the highest standard of craftsmanship.
  • Capacity - Establish clear expectations for reducing delays through accountable leadership. Empower crews to actively manage and lower maintenance delays.
  • Cost - Manage SMEs and crews in a cost-effective manner.
  • Communication - Champion transparent communication to ensure objectives, performance measures, and goals are communicated and met throughout the plant. (safety, quality, throughput, cost).
  • Continuous Improvement - Continuously evaluate all aspects of the process and equipment searching for ways to continuously improve the culture through training, technology, equipment, and practices.
  • Interface with other operations including Steelmaking Operations and Steel Processing Reliability.

 

Technical & Personal Skills:

  • Preventive Maintenance Planning
  • Possesses the competence to communicate to team effectively
  • Identify underlying issues to prevent recurring failures.
  • Ability to quickly resolve unexpected issues and communicate with team effectively
  • Define roles, responsibilities, and performance standards
  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure
  • Fosters alignment and trust by understanding the differing priorities of union employees, business partners and other salary teams
  • Qualified to respond to emergencies and change priorities

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School/GED with a minimum of 12 years of manufacturing maintenance, reliability or related experience
  • Associate's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, technology, or related with a minimum of 9 years of manufacturing maintenance, reliability or related experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, technology, or related with a minimum of 12 years of manufacturing maintenance, reliability or related experience
